Thursday again...
Almost weekend, almost time to go home...
And apparently I'm going to wind up with a new laptop, or at least, so we're hoping. The old Dell (which has been a faithful companion for lo! these three years and more) just isn't up to the tasks being asked of it. It's simply inadequate to the processing power needed to run the software I need - and I need to run the software even though I'm working on client-owned machines most of the time, because sometimes we're going to need to take things home and I can't be hamstrung if that happens.
So the request is in; it was all taken care of very quickly for Geoff, so I can only hope that they're as quick and efficient for me. Keep a good thought...

Good thoughts being thought
New laptop -- that would be lovely -- when (thinking positively here) you get it you'll have to divulge the specs so I can drool. Will they do a Vulcan mind meld to transfer files for you, or will you have to reload everything?
Re: Good thoughts being thought
Still waiting to hear on the new laptop; I had to route that through provisioning in Edison, and they're typically very stingy about actually giving us adequate equipment.
And no, unfortunately, they won't do a Vulcan mind meld to transfer files, but then again, there are things I'd rather do for myself so I know they've been done right. Will let you know what happens...
